Remediating Storm Damage After a Barnstable Cold Snap
After this Barnstable property experienced a cold snap, some of the plumbing froze and burst, leaking excess amounts of water into the living room ceiling in the Before Photo. The insulation is completely saturated with water and needs removal by SERVPRO technicians to prevent further damage to the home. While it can be possible to dry wet insulation, it can be more cost-effective to replace it depending on the extent of the damage.
SERVPRO technicians successfully extracted the insulation from the ceiling cavity. In the After Photo, the material is piled on the floor and ready for disposal, along with unsalvageable carpeting and other materials. The ceiling joists have been dried and are prepared for new insulation installation per the homeowners’ wishes. Damaged drywall has also been removed and replaced with new material near the windows.
